Catalan region, who gets a fine sunny hot and dry weather, is really exceptional and offers all the pleasures and the treasures you can imagine.
Perpignan, the capital of Roussillon, where we live, is only 10 mn to the see and mountains are from half an hour to one hour for the highest (>2900 m).
The coast is very contrasted and you can enjoy as well huge sandy beaches as tiny creeks with turquoise water.
The Canigou mountain peek dominates majestically the roussillon plain ; further, Cerdagne and Capcir are made for lovers of pure mountain air, unspoilt countryside and sports : winter sports of course but also climbing, biking, canyoning,…
The great historic and very rich cultural heritage, even back to prehistoric times, is visible in monuments, monasteries, priories, hermitages… and also in many activities such as music festivals, sardane dances, religious processions, expositions, museums…
Though gourmandise is a sin, you will not be able to resist to gastronomic delights and renowned wines.After wonderful mediterranean food, you will feed your mind with works of some of the greatests artists, Matisse, Braque, Picasso, Gauguin, Maillol, Derain who where inspired by our country.
Besides Spain is very near, 20 mn to the frontier, 1h30 to Barcelona (190 km).
